Once again, it's been quite a while since I've posted anything.
On August 21, Grant and I were involved in a car accident here in Winnipeg. I was driving in an unfamiliar area of the city, and was trying to figure out where I was, and by the time I saw the red light, I was already in the intersection. Unfortunately, there was a semi coming through the intersection and he broadsided the car.
We were both taken to Health Science Center by ambulance. Grant had two fractured ribs and a collapsed lung, and was kept overnight for observation and released on the Friday. I have a small fracture in my left hip, and compression fractures on two of my vetebrae (these may not be new though). I also got a nasty bruise from the seatbelt, but that healed very quickly. I was admitted to hospital and was fitted for a brace. I was in for a total of 8 nights before I got the brace and was allowed to go home.
It's been just almost 3 weeks since the car accident and Grant went back to work on Monday. He still gets little twinges of pain if he moves the wrong way, but is recovering really well.
I'm off work until I'm out of the brace. It's not easy sitting at home, not being allowed to do much (no heavy lifting, bending). I am working on little details of the wedding, but I'm not enjoying being housebound.
