Food, Glorious Food

I'm not refering to Oliver, and nobody was begging for more.

Tonight, everyone in head office was invited to dine at Ichiban Japanese Steakhouse with the General Manager's from the hotels, who were on their way to Gimli for the annual GM conference.

I've never gone to Ichiban before, and was it ever a treat.

Our meal started out with Vegetable soup, and a cucumber salad. Very delicious. We were given the option of having Chicken Livers for an appetizer. I decided to be brave and try them. They weren't that bad.

Next the chef (who cooks right at the table), mixed up a batch of fried rice, after doing the "Japanese Egg Roll". I almost ended up wearing one of the eggs.

While we were eating the fried rice, the chef cooked up the main course of shrimp, chicken and steak. It was very delicious.

We were all stuffed, and some of us were more stuffed than others.

Sorry, there are no pictures, but I didn't think to borrow Charlotte's camera for the evening.

Church Picinic

Yesterday, Grant and I headed out to the annual church picinic. We had lots of fun. There were games, food, more games, and fireworks. It was also a great chance to visit with people that you don't really get a chance to visit with on Sundays. For the games, we were in groups of 4, and Grant and I were lucky to be paired up with Ray and Lisa. They are a wonderful couple, and a great example to us. The games were lots of fun, and spawned many laughs among the groups.

Long Overdue Update

I've been told by a few people that I need to update this blog. I guess they are right.

A lot has happened in my life since my last post.

I met a wonderful man, Grant, and am now engaged to him, with a wedding date of January 24, 2009. I was introduced to him by a coworker who knew him, and the rest as they say is history. He works as a security guard here in Winnipeg, and enjoys his job.

Wedding plans are coming along slowly but surely. I'm planning on making my own invitations, programs and wedding favors, so the coming months could end up being very crafty (and I'm not a crafty person).

I'm still working at the same job and still enjoy going to work everyday.
